BIOGRAPHY

Dave was born in Scotland but his family returned to their native South Wales before his first birthday. He got his first instrument at eleven, completed his "O" Level in music but the school system prevented him from taking his studies further.

In 1979 he co-formed Tall Order, an AOR-friendly outfit that gigged regularly on the London circuit. The band specialized in high-energy, melodic rock that proved popular with eighties audiences.

From 1983 he concentrated on honing his composition, production and arrangement skills but was lured back to the stage in 1990 to play with a highly successful Blues Brothers tribute band, playing to crowds of 1000+ in and around the Midlands.

In 1991 he was invited to join the successful London-based rock 'n' blues outfit Private Eyes which included Phil McWalter, Romek Parol and TJ Robinson in its ranks. He also did a stint with hard rockers Toytown Rovers and completed many gigs across the capital.

In 1996 Dave issued a CD, "Postcard from Singapore", which showcased his particular brand of smooth jazz and rock crossover. As well as composing eleven of the twelve tracks, Dave performed, arranged and produced the disc himself. He continues to issue CDs at regular intervals.

In 1997 Dave joined After Hours, one of South Wales's top covers bands and still tirns out for them when his L:ondon schedule allows.  He has recently performed with top smooth jazz musicians Dave Hooper, Randy Jacobs and Andre Berry and has won praise from the likes of Peter White, Paul Jackson Junior and Wayman Tisdale.

In 2004 he joined top London covers outfit Red and has recently played with top fusion guitarist Pete Downes and trumpet legend Dick Pearce. He has also played with singer/songwriter James Burland, a gig which reunited him with Tall Order drummer Al Lenczner. In 2009 Dave joined 60s legends The Love Affair on bass.

In 2007 Dave launched his own band, Dave Heaven's Club-11,  which features long-time associate Tim Bruce on drums.
